Recap of my Web 2.0 course.

Throughout this semester I have a learned interesting and helpful Web tips. Overall I was very grateful for this course, although at times it was difficult. Some of the many sites I have learned from Flicker, tumblr, google docs, diigo, linoit, skype, wiki, animoto, and voice thread. These all, in different ways, helped me.

Google Docs has a very helpful e-mailing process, because by using Google Docs it makes it more easier to use. Google Docs gives me the opportunity to organize my mail. With Google Docs I can customize the theme and make new pages to put my personal e-mail. Overall Google Docs was and still is a very helpful e-mailing site.

Diigo is also a very helpful and fun site to use. By using Diigo I can go to any site and highlight anything that I find important to myself, I can also highlight with many varieties of colors. Diigo also allows me to bookmark so that later on in the future I can go to my Diggo account and review all of my bookmarked sites. Diigo is one of the many sites I will be using throughout the years.

My least favorite site was Wiki, because Wiki was really hard and confusing to use. When typing in Wiki you cant customize the font or even the color, thus making it very dull. Wiki does not really explain how to use all of the tools, So whenever I clicked on something it would take me to a new tab that I did not even need. Wiki was the least favorite out of all the sites.

One thing I liked about my electronic pub. teacher was that he made it fun and yet difficult, thus making it hard and yet exciting at the same time. I really have no complaints about the teacher nor the way he presented the assignments. There is nothing I would change about this class. I loved this class and plan on using all of the helpful tips provided to me.

In this short Animoto video that I have made it explains, in abbreviations, how a Bill becomes a law. Using Animoto was a lot easier than I had expected. The only problem I had with it was the limit amount of text you could put on each slide. Other than that it was great!

Toondoo project

In this short Toondoo comic strip it explains how techonology, over time, has become more advanced and how the old technology is left on a shelf, forgotten. In the first comic it shows a young couple listening to the radio. In the second comic it then shows the couple watching a black and white television. In the final comic it shows the couple with a more advanced, colored, big screen television.

New Truck!

Just last week I bought myself a used Ford F150 Truck! It’s and old truck, but in a beautiful way. It feels great to have something that reliable in my name. The stick shift is so much different from my dads Honda. But eventually I will get the hang of it :) Gas is INSANE though! lol

If I were to visit any place in the world, I would go to Ireland, because of all the main attractions. Ireland has one of the most beautiful touring spots in the world. With those touring spots comes old modern castles standing tall and beautifully. People can also visit little towns and acres of beautiful land.

Every year Ireland has amazing festivals and performances. St. Patricks day is the most viewed and celebrated festival of the year. Ireland also has the most viewed museums and art buildings. I think Ireland would be the greatest place to visit in the world.

If I were to visit anywhere in the world, I would go to Ireland. Ireland has the most beautiful looking land you could imagine and the sky looks so clean and fresh. Ireland has the most beautiful touring spots where you can see the old medieval castles still standing. Ireland would be the best place to visit.

If I could visit with someone from the past or the present, it would have to be George Washington, our first president. I would ask him what inspired him to lead this new born country. I would respect him because of his kindness and his hatred towards war. The one thing that I have in common with George Washington is owning a farm and loving it.

If I had the opportunity to change something in my life, I wouldn’t take it. Although I have not the life of perfection its something I would have always wanted. The hard times in life get me through to the good times. Without tough decisions or hard times I wouldn’t have build character.

Three Branches

Government has had a made a very interesting impact on me. I have never really understood the three branches that make up our government, felt to stupid to ask someone lol. Now that I have a Government class I have learned so much. I have learned about the Legislative Branch, also known as the Congress. The Executive Branch, our President, And the Judicial Branch, its all in the name lol. I can’t wait to learn more about these branches and then be able to have a real conversation about the Government and actually understand what it is were saying. Oh by the way I love the song “I’m just a bill” from School House Rock :)

Math proficiency.

Today I took my math proficiency. I worked very hard and long on this test and I have a great feeling that I did awesome :) I did everything I was asked to do by my math apps teacher. By doing this it made the test a whole lot easier for me. :)

Took my writing proficiency test today! there were some touch subjects but I have a feeling I did pretty well. Tomorrow I have my math proficiency and I have a really good feeling that this time I will pass it. Just got to keep thinking positive :)

Drivers test

I got my drivers license two days ago!!! I hadn’t posted anything on my blog ‘cause I was soooo excited, that I forgot. I feel so much older, lol I feel the age that I am. It’s sad and yet funny that I got my drivers license before my older sister and brother, guess that makes me more mature than them :). wait is that a good thing?

Next week is my proficiency tests! I have a real good feeling that this will be my week of passing, although the other times I felt good about it I failed, huh? This better be my week at least. In my math apps class my teacher, Mr. Barnett, has explained everything we needed to know for the test in perfect detail. Wish most teachers could be like him :(

End of the first Quarter.

Well this week is the end of the first quarter. My grades are very good so far, besides Algebra 2. The only problem I really have with Algebra is graphing equations, and solving graph equations. I can find the solution pretty well when fractions aren’t involved, don’t get me wrong I know my fractions, just the way its put into a equation is difficult.

I have ‘till Monday at 4pm to get my grade up and although it took me one hour to finish one assignment I know that with commitment I will be able to get the grade up by then. Just hope I don’t slack :(

School year

This school year has gone pretty well for me so far, my grades are amazing and I am actually remembering what I learn. Last week I met with my counselor, Mr. Fera, and we discussed about which college I wanted to go to and if I had the proper requirments. Well I have most of my requirments but still have a little catching up to do, so I joined some honor role courses. This, I guess, is supposed to bump my GPA up to the ammount I need to attend UNR.

UNR would most likely be the best college to attend to, because my sister lives there and has been telling me a lot of posotive things about the school campus. After hearing all these great comments I was eventually able to go up, with my family and visit her last summer. The atmosphere was great, the school was great, and the weather was great! at the moment though I don’t really know what I am going to major in. Maybe become a physical trainer. :)

Theo Jansen, a Kinect sculptor, has an amazing building technique because by only using pipe he is able to build massive walking “animals”. I found this interesting video about Theo Jansen and his creatures. In the video they speak of these creatures as if they were actually alive, and when you see the video that is what you automatically think! He says that he has found for them to live in the environment of the beaches in Netherlands on their own.

By living on their own they were designed with sails to catch the wind and move. These creatures were built to avoid obstacles, such as the sea. I think it is amazing that he was able to do this with only pipes. It would be fun having these creatures walk around. Theo Jansen is an amazing Kinect sculptor.

Drivers test!

I am taking my drivers test tomorrow! I am so excited and nervous at the same time. About a week ago I had asked my girlfriend if I could use her families van, because the car that my dad has is a manual. I mean don’t get me wrong I know how to drive it pretty well, I just don’t want to make any mistakes on the test. This morning I found out that I wont be able to use the family van after all, so it looks like I will be driving my dads car :( I hope I am able to pass the test. I am thinking positive and have a good feeling in my gut!! cant wait! :) and yet I can :/

In my Electrontic publications class we were asked to upload videos, pictures and to make a new page. All blogging sites should consist of videos and pictures, even if it is not of yourself, because followers can see who you are and what your intrests are. I am going to create an “about me” page, with all of my favorite music and family photos. :)
